XNAI Concluded the Workshop on Digital Economy Development

From July 24 to 26, 2024, the Workshop on Digital Economy Development was held virtually. This workshop was jointly sponsored by the Accounting Regulatory Department of the Ministry of Finance of China, China Accounting Standards Committee and Xiamen National Accounting Institute, organized by the Belt and Road Economic and Financial Capacity Building Platform. As an extension of the 6th Belt and Road National Accounting Standards Cooperation Forum (referred to as Cooperation Forum below), the workshop brought together representatives from accounting standards-setting bodies of China, Laos, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Russia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Maldives.

Ms. Zheng Yong, the vice president of the Institute, stated that following the success of the workshop during the 5th Cooperation Forum, the 6th session would continue this effective format. The workshop in 2024 focuses on the theme of digital economy development, facilitating in-depth discussions on the latest trends and challenges in the field.

Teachers from Xiamen National Accounting Institute, including Associate Professor Li Xiping of the Teaching and Research Center, Lecturer Feng Xiaochuan of the Research Center for the Belt & Road Financial and Economic Development and Associate Professor Zhang Xiaosan of the same Research Center, successively delivered thematic sharing sessions on topics such as compliance and governance, tax development and reform, and business model development in the context of the digital economy. Delegates from Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan and other countries conducted in-depth discussions on issues including how to achieve accounting compliance in the digital economy, optimize corporate business models, and apply artificial intelligence, and jointly explored new approaches to developing the digital economy.
