The Seminar on Financial Strategy for BRI Partner Countries was successfully held at the Xiamen National Accounting Institute from September 3 to 9, 2024. The seminar is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, co-organized  by the Academy of International Business Officials (AIBO) and Xiamen National Accounting Institute (XNAI). It brought together 35 financial officials and practitioners from Egypt, Bahrain, Laos, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and Uganda.

At the opening ceremony, Ms. Zheng Yong, the vice president of XNAI, warmly welcomed the participants who had traveled from afar to attend the seminar. She provided an overview of the Institute and stated that the seminar was a key event under the Belt and Road Financial Capacity Building Platform. She expressed her hope that everyone would seize this opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese experiences in financial development and to jointly explore future directions for financial cooperation. The associate professor Ms. Liu Zhixin, on behalf of AIBO, introduced the Academy and encouraged participants to deeply comprehend the significance of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative to ensure fruitful learning outcomes. Ms. Bitarakwate Kebirungi Catherine Musingwiire, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Public Service of the Republic of Uganda, spoke as a participant representative. She expressed gratitude for the organization of the seminar and highly praised the positive role of the Belt and Road Initiative in promoting cooperation among Asian, European, and African nations and advancing regional economic integration.

During the seminar, officials and scholars delivered specialized lectures on a range of themes, including Development of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, Green Finance Facilitating the Green and Low-Carbon Transition, Investment and Financing Practices for Addressing Climate Change, and Digital Finance.:

The Institute organized a field visit for all participants to Henan Province. During the visit, the delegation toured the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, gaining firsthand insight into the development of China's futures market.

2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The seminar included a visit to the Henan Hongqiqu Executive Leadership Academy. There, they witnessed remarkable achievements since the founding of New China 75 years ago.

During the program, participants attended a key event of the 24th China International Fair for Investment & Trade — the 7th Belt and Road High-Quality Development Conference.

At the closing ceremony, Ms. Zheng Yong delivered the closing remarks for the seminar. Mr. Abdulrahim Abdulla A.Rahim A.Rahman Fakhroo, the vice chairman of Bahrain SMEs Society, speaking on behalf of all participants, expressed his sincere gratitude to the faculty, program team members, logistical support staff, volunteers, and all others involved.

Upon the feedback given by participants, 35 participants indicated that they unanimously rated the training as "Excellent."
