Professor Huang Shizhong delivered a keynote speech at the sub-forum, addressing six hot topics in sustainability reporting: reporting objectives, content, positioning, priority issues, applicable standards, and operational boundaries. He emphasized that standardized sustainability reporting has gradually evolved into a regional and international coordination mechanism. In the future, companies and organizations are highly likely to be mandated to disclose ESG reports alongside financial reports. Therefore, it is imperative to discuss these pressing issues related to sustainability reporting.
Distinguished speakers, including Zhang Weiguo, former member of the International Accounting Standards Board; Chee Wee Tan, Senior Environmental and Social Specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank; Renitha Dwarika, Partner and Director at PwC South Africa; Chaitanya Kalia, National Leader for Climate Change and Sustainability Services at EY India; and Sun Chuanwang, Professor at the China Center for Energy Economics Research, shared insights on topics such as impact monetization, environmental governance disclosure requirements of multilateral development banks, sustainability reporting in South Africa, climate-related information disclosure in India, and carbon neutrality goals. Their presentations highlighted relevant experiences from BRICS countries and international organizations.
